Wie ben ik ?
Welcome to my website! I am Emile Degruyter, a Bachelor of Applied Architecture student at Howest Brugge. This website will give you an idea of my study career and of course also about who I am.

I was born in Izegem, a small town between Kortrijk and Bruges in the province of West Flanders, Belgium. I completed my secondary education at the VTI in Roeselare in specific construction techniques. Outside of my studies, I like to meet up with friends, play football and make time for family.
How did I end up in applied architecture?
My passion for architecture developed during my studies in specific construction techniques, where I became deeply involved in the technical aspects of the construction process. My curiosity about how construction methods come together and spaces are formed led to a growing fascination with architecture. During my studies, I broadened my horizons by taking additional courses in architectural design and urban planning, and I participated in internships and projects where I was able to combine my knowledge of construction techniques with creative design elements. These experiences have strengthened my belief that architecture is not only about the technical aspects, but also about creating harmonious, functional and aesthetically compelling spaces, which has motivated me to continue my path in applied architecture.
