In this project we came into contact with\u00a0timber frame construction<\/strong>\u00a0for the first time. The task was to make an\u00a0addition of a school building<\/strong>\u00a0with student housing, and when we got to the\u00a0implementation phase<\/strong>, to draw up some\u00a0details<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the ground floor<\/strong> of the addition we find ourselfs a staircase<\/strong> which is connected<\/strong> with the school building<\/strong> below. on this floor we have 7 units for 1 person<\/strong> and 5 units made for 2 people<\/strong>, there’s also a big technical area<\/strong> located at the top left side of the ground plan. All these units are connected with a stretched hall<\/strong> wich at the right hand side is connected with a little ‘bridge’ to a already existing elevator<\/strong>. All the units except one are exactly the same<\/strong>, when you enter the unit<\/strong> there’s always a comfortable bathroom<\/strong> to our right hand side. the other space<\/strong> is totally open<\/strong> and includes sleeping, dining, cooking,storage and studying facilities<\/strong>. each room also has a minimalistic roof terrace<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If we enter the second floor<\/strong> we’ll see the exact same units as<\/strong> there are on the ground floor<\/strong> the only difference<\/strong> on this floor is that the hall is a little wider<\/strong> in comparing to our ground floor, plus there’s a little void<\/strong> that creates more daylight into the ground floor hall<\/strong>. when we arrive at the top of the stairwell we can also make a left hand turn which leads us into the common rooms<\/strong> including a chill room<\/strong> with relaxing sofas<\/strong>, a TV<\/strong> and a pool table<\/strong>. In this room there’s also<\/strong> a big common kitchen- and dining space <\/strong>which is connected<\/strong> with a large outdoor lounge set on the roof terrace<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the roof of the gymnasium<\/strong>, the task was to create a public open space<\/strong> that attracts people who do not live here. There is a enormous rooftop bar<\/strong>, a big ping pong area<\/strong>, loungers <\/strong>and a darts area<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
