In this project we were asked to design a temporary unit<\/strong> for the artist who came to Cactus at the kanaaleiland in Bruges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were some specific demands, the most important one was that we needed to design the building on base of some squares<\/strong> which where about 5m x 4m<\/strong>. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The location<\/strong> was also free of choice, we just needed to be on or around the ‘kanaaleiland’ by the water. I chose to place my unit on the ultimate edge<\/strong> because of the sun<\/strong> and it’s possibilities.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you can see on the floor plan<\/strong>, you enter the private section<\/strong> by taking a little stare <\/strong>on to a covered walkway<\/strong>. On the walkway, the left side<\/strong> which is already in sight when you walk towards the building is the main entrance for visitors<\/strong>. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The artist<\/strong> who lives there for the moment can go right<\/strong> to go directly into his repetition room<\/strong> on his right side<\/strong> or he\/she can make a lefthand turn<\/strong> to go into the back entrance which directly leads into<\/strong> the kitchen\/dining room.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we enter the building by the main entrance.<\/strong> at our lefthand side there is a little cloakroom<\/strong> and if we advance into the house there’s also a litlle toilet<\/strong> to the left. At the next point we enter the open section<\/strong> of the house, where we first got a living room <\/strong>with a cozy sofa and a TV. Behind the living room we got our kitchen\/dining room<\/strong>. Both the kitchen\/dining room and the living room have large floor-to-ceiling windows<\/strong> that provide a breathtaking view<\/strong> of the surroundings.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides the living room there’s a master bedroom<\/strong> which is connected to a private bathroom.<\/strong> As well from the master bedroom as the kitchen\/dining room we got acces to a private terrace<\/strong> where the artist can chill on the lounger<\/strong> as the lounge set.<\/strong> On the luxury terrace there’s also space<\/strong> for a big dining table<\/strong> close to the kitchen\/dining room.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
